The flames work the wild flowers up into frenzy, teasing them almost to the brink of an all encompassing inferno. Some of the violets seen here and there have already begun participating in the smoldering dance of destruction. But, with the waterfall dribbling behind, the burn will not spread far. This is the only painting in the series that does not incorporate the usual hard edged geometrical patterns.
